Puntuali, come sempre accade da ventiquattro anni a questa parte, giungono in concomitanza con la GenCon, la principale convention ludica statunitense, gli annunci dei vincitori degli ENNIE Awards, più comunemente noti come ENNIES.
Come vi abbiamo raccontato nel corso degli anni, si tratta dei più importanti riconoscimenti al mondo per quanto concerne il settore dei giochi di ruolo. Sono basati su una votazione popolare che coinvolge giocatori da tutto il mondo, anche se da alcuni anni si sono aggiunti diversi premi (alle già numerose categorie) con titoli riconosciuti come particolarmente validi da una giuria di esperti.

C’è sicuramente varietà tra i vincitori di quest’anno ma ci sono anche titoli che si sono affermati parecchio nelle scelte del pubblico. Tra questi spicca sicuramente Moria – Through the Doors of Durin , il supplemento per l’Unico Anello che dimostra la longevità di quello che è probabilmente il miglior gdr a tema tolkeniano in circolazione e che si è distinto anche in Italia con la vittoria del titolo di Miglior Supplemento negli scorsi ioGioco Award. C’è poi Triangle Agency, forse il gdr rivelazione di quest’anno, portato anche in Italia da Nessun Dove e di cui vi abbiamo parlato nel dettaglio sulle pagine di ioGioco di Ruolo. Non troppo stupore per le medaglie di Mythic Bastionland, che conferma l’apprezzamento per il particolare approccio OSR dimostrato da Into the Odd e Electric Bastionland.
Oltre all’orgoglio per Moria (ricordiamo che la linea de L’unico Anello è curata dai nostrani Nepitello e Maggi), possiamo evidenziare anche quest’anno diverse presenze italiane tra i finalisti, come i prodotti di Two Little Mice e Horrible Guild, anche se nessuno è arrivato a medaglia.
Ma è con ancora maggior orgoglio che rileviamo come la cateogoria cartography sia stata dominata dagli italiani ovvero da Francesco Mattioli e Francesca Baerald! Siamo ben consapevoli di quanto questi artisti siano bravi, abbiamo approfondito il loro lavoro e parlato con loro nello speciale dedicato alla cartografia nei giochi sul numero 35 di ioGioco.
Ancora complimenti a tutti i vincitori degli Ennie Awards 2025. Siamo sicuri che molti dei titoli vittoriosi di questa edizione non tarderanno ad arrivare anche sui nostri tavoli.
